Repairs to the jetty walkway (added 13/03/24)

The existing jetty is made of wood and the years, water and weather have taken their toll on the structure. During this winter it sustained serious damage rendering it unrepairable. Work has commenced to replace the walkway with a steel frame and GRP surface. This is a significant financial investment and we have applied to several organisations for grant funding to help with the cost.

Update on the jetty replacement project (added 09/04/24)

New foundation piles for the replacement jetty walkway are in place, however, the poor weather and high water level has halted the construction work resulting in a delay to the start of this year’s season. When the water level drops the work will continue and, weather permitting, the walkway will be available for use at the beginning of May. Hopefully by then the weather will have improved and the water temperature increased.

Phase 1 of the new jetty is complete (added 02/05/24)

Thanks to Robert and Barry for their excellent work in designing and building the new jetty walkway, which is now ready for members to use. Phase 2, the replacement of the jetty head, will be undertaken at the end of the season.

Boat Launch (added 02/05/24)

The boat is now on the lake ready to start the 2024 season. The water is still a bit chilly at 12c, however the driver rota starts on Tuesday 7 May, with a driver on duty from 18.45 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and from 13.45 on Saturday and Sunday. To ski outside of these times simply contact one of the drivers to find out their availability to give you a tow.

We’re looking forward to helping everyone have a great experience at the club, and there’s always coaching available from the drivers to help you improve, whatever your discipline.
